Women’s Burdens
“Women also keep livestock such as cattle, pigs, goats, sheep, rabbits, and poultry. At the same time they have to cope with domestic responsibilities, like caring for children, preparation of food for the family, fetching water, firewood collection, laundry, etc. The worst part of the women’s heavy workload is that the fruits of their labour tend to be enjoyed more by the men than the women themselves.”

Global Partners for Development works in the East African countries of Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania. The key to the success of our projects is that we work directly with local organizations, school districts, cooperatives, and community governments. All our projects are generated by our African partners and community participation is a crucial requirement for funding by Global Partners. In each area we have a Program Partner who oversees the work being done in the area, helps coordinate local efforts, and assists in solving problems. Program Partners are crucial for the success of Global Partners.

These dedicated, knowledgeable people ensure that projects are completed satisfactorily. They serve as a liaison with local leaders and work to preserve the right of the people to development that improves their lives while being protective of their heritage. Program Partners know the area and know the people. They can predict what will be needed and ensure it will happen. It is this type of foresight that makes Project Partners so valuable to the work of Global Partners.
